The Beacon Sixth Form is a growing and successful Sixth Form where students achieve their potential. Emphasis is placed upon achieving both academic and all round excellence. Students are able to flourish in a secure community where they are well known and their individual needs are catered for.

The Beacon Sixth Form offers much more than academic success. There are many opportunities for students to develop personal responsibility and a broad range of skills through our enrichment, tutorial and general studies programmes and the Prefect system. The Beacon Sixth Form prides itself upon preparing individual students for a successful future at a higher/further education institution, or in their chosen career.

The specialist Sixth Form Centre has study facilities with computer and internet access, an area for relaxation and its own catering servery. The Director of Sixth Form and the Sixth Form Administrator are based in the Sixth Form Centre.

The courses offered are:

• A broad range of exciting Advanced General Certificate of Education (AGCE) courses at AS and A2 levels over two years
• Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education (AVCE) in Leisure & Recreation and Travel & Tourism
• Level 2 courses in Leisure & Tourism, ICT, Health & Social Care and Art & Design
• Diploma in Administration with single subject skills examinations in CLAIT Text Processing, ICT applications, Bookkeeping and Business English
• Additional courses in GCSE Mathematics and English
• General Studies for all students at either GCSE, AS or A-level
